Rebuild Liberia Now

Help Liberia Rebuild Spiritually. Give to Build Churches, Educate an Excombatant or Give To Our Next Medical Mission.

Liberia has been plagued with civil wars for over a decade. With new leaders in power that are against corruption, you can be assured that the Liberian people will benefit from the donations you are able to share. There has never been a better time for Liberia to succeed if the rest of the world will come alongside them. Below are four (4) unique ways you can contribute to a "New Liberia."

All contributions are tax deductible. Make checks payable to Effort Baptist Church.

This church has partnered with Effort Baptist Church, Paynesville, Liberia since 1999, when one of the pastors at Effort-America 'happened' to meet one of the pastors of Effort-Liberia at a conference.

I had the opportunity to join a 30-day mission trip (December 2008 - January 2009) to Liberia. I saw a group of people that, despite all they have experienced, still want to know more about the Lord and His promises. With unemployment over 60%, Liberians need someone to partner with them to rebuild the country in a Godly way. Visit our Photo Gallery for more photos.

Last year (November 2009 - December 2009), I was part of a medical team consisting of 2 medical doctors, 2 physician assistants, 1 pharmacist, 1 pharmacist technician, 1 physical therapist and 14 others assisting in various ways. We set up make-shift clinics in Paynesville and Foya, Liberia. In these clinics, we found very sick people that need the simplest of care and medicines. However, due to the effects of the war there are no free clinics and limited medicines in the paid clinics. Won't you consider contributing to our next medical mission in 2011?

The country's President is a Christian. The Vice-President is a Christian and a deacon of Effort Baptist Church. Our mission team had the privilege to dine with the Vice-President and his wife at his home. He shared with us his dream to build a 'Better Liberia' than ever before.

Already, this new Liberian government is free of corruption and actively rebuilding the infrastructure that Liberia needs for the future. The government is involved in programs for the excombatants affected by the war. These programs teach them Godly principles and bring Godly mentors into their lives. The judicial system is being rebuilt to insure that all citizens of Liberia can be heard, thereby, preventing another revolution. by rebuilding the Judicial system and building a system that won't permit revolution to take over ever again.

Rarely is there such an opportunity to help rebuild a nation with such a Godly leadership. A leadership that is making countless personal sacrifices, passing up the old ways of corruption, and choosing the path of integrity instead.

Won't you join me to make a difference in Liberia? Liberians need your prayers and support. Below are some ways you can participate in "Rebuilding Liberia Now." Any donation large or small will be greatly appreciated.

Directions: If you would like to contribute, enter a donation amount beside the category, and press the 'Calculate Total' button.
Educate an excombatant - $100.00 Provide an Ex-Combatant an education and a trade. The best way to remove their guns is to give them an education instead. $
Zinc - $120.00 per bundle Give to part of a church building. Zinc is used for the roofs of the churches, to withstand the severe annual rains. $
Chainsaw - $1,900.00 The chainsaw is used as a portable saw mill, since there are no lumber sources near by. It's necessary to use the trees around them. Each tree is halved by the saw to build pillars for the churches. $
Complete Church - $1,000.00 The church walls are built with hand-made bricks from mud. The women of the church carry sand on their heads from a distant river bed, to be mixed with the cement for the foundation. $
Medical Mission 2011
Partner with us in our next Medical Mission in 2011. We found Liberians that walked several miles to get to the clinic. In fact, one woman walked 18 miles one way for medical care. Even after they stood in line for days, many were turned away due to the shortage of medicines. Don't let us run out of medicine again, please! Any money you give will help tremendously. $
